During the week ending 29th October, 1465 Covid positive cases were reported in Fife, down from 1656 a week earlier. Cases in St Andrews were up at 45.
On the 26th October, Covid-19 infection rates in the St Andrews neighbourhoods, per 100,000 population, were: Central: 74 (4 cases), South West 413 (18 cases); SE St Andrews 361 (15 cases) and 93 (6 cases) in North and Strathkinness.
The population-based Fife Covid infection rate figure (26th October) was 426 per 100,000, third highest in Scotland and above the Scottish average of 329 per 100,000. Hospital Covid admissions were 59, down from at 68 a week earlier, and there were less than 5 patients in ICU compared with 5 a week previouisly.
In its latest update on the 26th October, the University of St Andrews reported 9 new cases during the previous week, 6 staff and 3 students. 2 staff and 8 students were self-isolating after being in contact with a proven positive case during the week. The total number of cases (students plus staff) since 1st September 2021 is 110.
