Calling prospective medical students!

NHS Fife is offering students considering a career in medicine the opportunity to find out what it’s like. Run jointly with the University of St Andrews, the course will be available to current S6 pupils, recently having completed S5.

Running for a week in the summer, this programme will give you MMI interview skills practice, provide you with clinical work experience and include sessions key areas of the medical profession such as communications skills, ethics and more.

Course content:

It will take you through MMI interview skills practice, provide you with clinical work experience and include sessions key areas of the medical profession i.e. communications skills, trust and ethics.

Course duration and location

The course duration is one week, a week that will prepare you to apply to university and provide you with real life experiences that you can refer to when writing your personal statement.  Placements last one week and run from Monday-Friday at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Students will be expected to make their own travel arrangements* and be available for the full week between 8am and 6pm.

*Some funding may be available to support with travel costs – this will be administered on a case-by-case basis.
