Over the past 14 days there have been 20 further cases diagnosed in Fife and 259 in Tayside, the majority in Tayside linked to a food processing factory in Coupar Angus and a school (Kingspark) in Dundee
There have been less than 5 cases in hospital in Tayside since the 26th June and in Fife from the 6th July.
On the 27th August, National Records of Scotland released data showing that as of the 23rd August, where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate, the total, cumulative, number of deaths in all settings in Scotland was 4222 – 3 up on the previous week. Care home deaths accounted for 46.5% of all coronavirus deaths.
Data are for deaths where Covid-19 is mentioned on the death certificate in all locations: hospital, care homes and at homes. There were no deaths amongst confirmed cases of coronavirus; 2 of the deaths were in hospital and 4 in care homes.
